I added a gradient layer to make my initial rays. Then I changed layer mode to screen and also used perspective to change the angle of the rays. After I changed to color overlay to a faint yellow and used the custom shape tool to create more rays. I repeated the color onto the new rays and created a new layer for a sun simulation.
