Exploding Ball

For this, I took a picture of Javi's string ball thing. I quick selected shards of broken glass and duplicated that process many times. I then warped and erased parts to make sure no two pieces look similar. Then I clumped some together for the initial break and spread the bigger ones out further away. The smudge tool was a bit of a pain, it never really came out well.

Puppet Warp

I warped Richard's arms so that they were touching his head. I quick selected his body  and refined it. Then after some saving, I used the puppet warp tool and various layers to get his arms to touch his head. Finally I filled out the content and merged a duplicate to polish it.

Repeating Flash

We had failed initially with getting good pictures. Our background was messed up so we went inside the darkroom. Richard and I tried using the hoola-hoop and were unsuccessful with timing. Gabi had an idea of standing in front as we throw the hoop behind. Then I thought of encircling Gabi with the hoop like a transporting thing from Star Trek, and that turned out good. The image has good spacing between hoop rings, simplistic background and good focus.

Painting with Light

My intended message behind this related to the environment and trash consumption. This photo reminded me of my APES class sophomore year and how trash is a crucial component to environmental degradation. I tried to make curly "Q's" like Pigpen from Snoopy. I had Gabi hold the shutter button while I used finger lights to create the lights coming out of the trash can. I also flashed the trash can in the beginning. Edits include contrast, shadows and color.

Music

I did this music project based off of the Earth, Wind and Fire song, Shining Star. This is one of my favorite songs by them and the trumpet section is incredible in the band. I used to play trumpet growing up, so I wanted to tie the two together. I went outside and placed the trumpet facing away from the sun so that the horn would have a dark shadow. Then that night I went out and took pictures of the moon and sky. My edits include contrast and shadows. In photoshop, I used the text tool to place the lyrics in the picture and the copy and paste feature to place the moon in the horn

Portraits

I wanted to show how even though my sister is an intimidating player on the football field. I took all of these pictures at her house up in Sonoma.
I wanted to show that her focus as of late has been powder puff football by having the ball be in focus and her blurred out.
I wanted to display her intensity on and off the field by showing off her game face and eye black
I wanted to show the relationship between the elderly and modern day technology and how it is very tough for them to process (my grandma with a iphone).
